It's almost that day people, Valentine's Day. I've had a hit + miss history with the day, but part of my jaded soul still has a warm place for it. I like that there is plenty of chocolate everywhere + that it's totally ok to wear, drink + eat things that are bright red.
Drinks are one of the easiest things to pull off well + on Valentine's day it's good to know you'll knock one thing out of the park. Here are my four picks for sipping on V-day. Note that if you want to make any of these non-alcoholic, just substitute seltzer or lemon-lime soda for the alcohol. It'll do the trick.
Sparkling Grapefruit Ginger-Orange Spritzer // A mouthful to say, but this one will go down easy. It's a cocktail of bourbon, grapefruit juice, blood orange juice + just a hint of fresh ginger syrup. Sparkling water keeps it light + bubbly.
Ooh, berry berry // Not into gin? This might be the way to go. Muddled raspberries mix with a bit of gin, mint simple syrup + club soda. It's just the right amount of fuss, which is none at all.
Grilled Cherry Milkshakes // Never has a gluten-free, vegan milkshake looked so good. The secret is in coconut milk. First you will have to grill bing cherries, but it will make one great treat for Valentine's Day.
Prosecco Sorbet Cocktail // No time for cocktails + dessert? Combine the two. This recipe adds angostura bitters, but this is actually just sorbet + Prosecco. Scoop two of your favorite flavors + top with Prosecco. Tada! You genius, you're done.
